NASSR/RC Contest Results!

Please join NASSR and Romantic Circles in congratulating Elizabeth Effinger (U of New Brunswick) for winning the 6th Annual NASSR/RC Contest for her project “The Charlotte Smith Beachy Head Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: An Undergraduate Public Humanities Project.” Effinger led her students in researching, writing, and editing the wikipedia page for Smith’s long poem, engaging in public, literary, digital, and collaborative scholarship. 

We would also like to acknowledge with an Honorable Mention Amelia Worsley (Amherst College) & Lily Gurton-Wachter (Smith College), for their course,“Frankenstein: The Making of a Monster,” which was felt to be a model of how to teach Shelley’s novel with a series of concentric historical and contemporary contexts and approaches. 

Our hearty thanks goes two our two other finalists, Betsy Winakur Tontiplaphol (Trinity U) and Franca Dellarosa (Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro), both finalists, and our other group of participants for a lovely, rich, and heartening conversation about pedagogy.
